SPECIALIST HUBSPOT SEO CONSULTANTS
How We Help Businesses Looking for a HubSpot SEO Consultant
We offer HubSpot SEO consulting as a discrete service. Book an hour to debug a specific issue, a five or ten hour block to work through an audit and roadmap, or a full retainer to run a campaign end to end. The same senior consultant works on every hour you book.
HubSpot's CMS has matured significantly since its rebrand to Content Hub. The platform ships meaningful SEO infrastructure: real-time page-level recommendations, automatic XML sitemap generation, the SEO dashboard, content cluster topic tools, HubL for templating, HubDB for dynamic pages, and Code Alerts on Enterprise plans. What it does not ship is a plugin ecosystem, native e-commerce, or unlimited pages. Each plan tier has page count limits. HubL is the only templating language. HubDB requires deliberate setup to expose metadata correctly to crawlers.
The work is led by Daniel Foley Carter (founder, 25+ years in SEO) and a team of senior consultants with at least 10 years of hands-on experience each. There are no junior account managers, no offshored audit production, and no gatekeeping between you and the person doing the work.

- Single hour, 5-hour or 10-hour blocks
- Most engagements start within 1–2 business days

The Process
How Our SEO Consulting Works
Five steps from first contact to first hour delivered. Most engagements start within 1 to 2 business days.
Send a Brief
Use the contact form or email a short summary of the site, your HubSpot tier (Starter, Professional, Enterprise), the problem, and what you want from the engagement. Three or four sentences is enough.
Scoping Call (15–30 minutes, free)
A short call to confirm the brief, agree what is in scope, and recommend the right number of hours. If a single hour is enough, we will tell you. If we are not the right fit, we will tell you that too.
Book Hours
You purchase the block that matches the scope. Single hour, five hour, or ten hour. Invoiced before the work starts. We accept card and bank transfer.
Access
You add the consultant to HubSpot as a Super Admin, Marketing user, or with appropriate scoped permissions, plus Search Console, GA4, and any third-party tools relevant to the work. Partner portals are also supported.
Delivery
Work is delivered against the scope agreed in step 2. Async by default, with calls scheduled where they help. You receive a written summary of what was done, what was found, and what comes next.

SEO Consulting Case Study
How We've Helped Clients Recover Lost Traffic & Rankings
Riderguide and their sub-brand Electric Scooter Guide were impacted by numerous Google core updates, losing a significant volume of clicks. We initially provided SEO consulting to help audit content, identify issues with content as well as technical SEO issues.
Using the consulting hours, we were able to advise on issues and provide clear instructions and a strategy on forward actions. The consulting hours were then used to oversee work and subsequently the client has begun to make a recovery with ongoing click gains.
During the SEO consultancy hours we provided audit support, analysis and guidance for the client.

Why Choose Assertive for HubSpot SEO Consultancy?
Businesses work with Assertive because we do exactly what we advise our clients to do. Our in-house SEO consultants bring deep, hands-on HubSpot-specific experience and proven results.

Why Work With Us?
PLATFORM EXPERTISE
HubSpot SEO Is Its Own Discipline
Generic SEO advice fails on HubSpot because HubSpot is not a conventional CMS. The platform owns the hosting, the rendering, the URL routing, the database (HubDB), and the templating language (HubL). There is no plugin ecosystem and no traditional escape hatch beyond HubL itself. Working inside it takes specific knowledge of where the platform ends and where its tier-based gating sits.
HubDB tables power dynamic pages, but HubSpot only added Meta Description, Featured Image URL, and Canonical URL columns to dynamic page tables in February 2019 (per HubSpot developer documentation). Sites built before that change often still inherit metadata from the listing page. HubL is a templating language based on Jinja2, not a full programming language engineering ambition has to fit inside its constraints.
Per HubSpot's pricing documentation, each plan tier has page count limits that affect programmatic and location-based SEO strategy. Smart Content requires careful configuration to avoid cloaking serving different content to Googlebot than to segmented users can trigger a manual action.
That is why HubSpot SEO is its own discipline. Our recommendations cover off-site SEO too, from link building through to digital PR, all wired into how HubSpot actually behaves.

Here is our own head of SEO Daniel Foley Carter ranking in the UK market for “SEO Consultant” #1 in AI Overviews & #1 on the SERP.
HubSpot Environments We Work In
- Content Hub Starter, Professional, and Enterprise
- Marketing Hub (email, automation, forms, analytics)
- HubDB and dynamic pages (directories, location pages, programmatic SEO)
- HubL and custom modules via Design Manager and HubSpot CLI
- Multilingual HubSpot sites with native hreflang
- Hybrid HubSpot + WordPress / Webflow setups
- HubSpot Commerce Hub (payments and quote-to-cash)
- Migrations into HubSpot from WordPress, Drupal, Sitecore, Joomla
- Migrations off HubSpot to WordPress, custom builds, or other platforms

What You're Likely Looking For
Most people who land on this page fall into one of six buckets. The right starting point depends on which one fits.
Most engagements start with hourly consulting; some scale into ongoing campaign work once we've scoped the gaps.
HubSpot Site With Flat or Falling Traffic
The site is built. The Content Hub foundation is in place. Organic still is not pulling its weight. You want a senior consultant to look at the site architecture, the content cluster setup, the HubDB dynamic pages, and what Googlebot actually sees, and tell you where the disconnect is.
Migrating to HubSpot Content Hub from Another CMS
Moving from WordPress, Drupal, Sitecore, or a custom CMS to Content Hub. The HubSpot Solutions Partner has the build covered. The SEO scope is open. You want someone who has run these migrations before and knows where rankings get lost, particularly given HubSpot's URL handling, redirect manager, and content type translation requirements.
Running Into HubSpot's Page Count or Tier Limits
Per HubSpot's pricing documentation, each plan tier has page count limits and feature gates. Sites running programmatic SEO at scale, location-based content for multi-location businesses, or extensive content libraries hit these limits. You want a consultant who has navigated this before with HubDB strategies, tier upgrades, or hybrid stacks.
Launching a New HubSpot CMS Site
Pre-launch is the cheapest time to get SEO right. Topic cluster architecture, HubL template SEO patterns, HubDB schema for dynamic pages, redirect planning, and integration with Marketing Hub and CRM are decisions easier to make at planning stage than to retrofit at month nine.
Running Heavy HubDB-Driven Content
HubDB powers dynamic pages on HubSpot CMS. Sites running directories, location pages, knowledge bases, or programmatic landing pages on HubDB have specific SEO requirements: metadata exposure, canonical handling, sitemap inclusion, and template-level optimization. Most HubDB implementations we audit have at least one configuration issue.
Manual Action, Ranking Drop, or In-House Team Support
Search Console is showing a manual action, rankings have dropped across a Core, Spam, or Helpful Content update, or you have a marketing team that needs senior SEO input on HubSpot-specific decisions. We scope the recovery work realistically or join your Slack and contribute alongside your existing team.

KNOW THE CONSTRAINTS
Where HubSpot Sites Quietly Lose Rankings
The issues we find on almost every site we audit. None are fatal. All cost traffic.
Listing page metadata gaps
Per Diagram's published HubSpot SEO research, blog listing pages and HubDB-driven listing pages historically had metadata limitations requiring HubL workarounds. Default listing pages inherit metadata from their parent page, producing duplicate meta descriptions across paginated pages. We refactor templates to set unique metadata per listing page.
HubDB dynamic pages with inherited metadata
Sites that built HubDB-driven pages before HubSpot added the Meta Description, Featured Image URL, and Canonical URL columns in February 2019 sometimes still inherit metadata from the parent listing page. We audit HubDB table schemas and update them to expose proper metadata fields per row.
Topic cluster pillars without genuine depth
Pillar pages built as thin overviews with cluster posts linking back, but without substantive content on the pillar itself. Google's Helpful Content system penalizes thin pillars and can drag down the entire cluster. We audit pillar quality before reviewing cluster links.
Smart Content showing different content to crawlers
Smart Content segments based on lifecycle stage, country, or device. Misconfigured segments can serve substantially different content to Googlebot than to specific user types, which Google treats as cloaking. We audit Smart Content rules across all SEO-relevant pages.
Marketing Hub tracking script weight
The HubSpot tracking script, combined with forms, chat widgets, and CTAs, can add substantial JavaScript weight to pages. Per HubSpot's developer documentation, this is partly removable through configuration. We audit what to keep, what to defer, and what to remove.
Old AMP pages left in the index
Settings > Website > Pages includes an AMP toggle for blog posts. Sites that enabled it years ago and forgot still produce AMP variants at /post/post-name/amp/ patterns. Per Google's announcements, AMP is no longer a ranking factor. We disable and clean up residual indexed AMP URLs.
CASE STUDY
SEO Consulting Success Story
“We used Assertive's SEO consulting to help recover lost traffic”
We hired one of the Assertive SEO consultants (Daniel Foley Carter) to help us with an assessment regarding a loss of traffic after a Google core update. Daniel performed an extensive SEO audit, he identified lots of issues that we weren't aware of.
We booked additional time so that Daniel could support our team as we went through a content and link cleanup. We fixed a load of issues including non-indexed page reasons.
Since, we've started to see our traffic recover. I highly recommend, Daniel was extremely thorough and clearly knowledgeable.
